Not a good day
16 12 2013
Today was not a good day for Salem. He was in some pain today and has yet to really go number 2 since surgery which was 10 days ago. He was very sleepy all day but I made sure to get him some pain meds in him and also gave him a little bit of pumpkin in his dinner tonight. He was however very happy when I helped him up into the window and let him sit there for awhile. It is one of his favorite spots to be. Right now he is laying bundled in a onesie with his head on my lap. He looks pretty sleepy but I had given him a bit more pain meds than normal, which I was told to do if I felt he was in some pain. I am hoping this is just an off day and not a complete set back. He has me worried I will say that. I am still trying to be positive though.
His face is a tad dirty due to plowing through his food bowl and its been a heck of time trying to get it clean! I swear its like having a real child….onesies and all!!

oh no Salem, you feel better ya hear!?
oh I am sorry to hear that… I hope that little Salem gets some relief soon. Constipation can be very uncomfortable. Deva has the same problem. Tomorrow is check up at the Vet so I hope there is something they can do. I am going to try a massage tonight. Someone told me that this might help?
And you are so right…it is just like looking after a baby.
good luck and love to you and salem xxx
Hey Salem,
Fang did not go until 8 days after surgery. My vet suggested pumpkin (did not help) and then suggested adding a little powdered Miralax to something yummy. That definitely helped. So, I suggest trying that!
I’m sorry you’re not feeling better, I’m sure thing’s will be looking up soon.
If a blog is good for one thing, it’s finding things I would never otherwise remember: “a little powdered Miralax on his food (1/2 tsp)” is what the vet suggested. I might have done a teensy bit more than that.
Okay Salem, we need a #2!!
I know it’s hard not to worry, but it sure seems like tis could be the problem. Maybe Fang’s suggestion will help. I’d definitely get the vet to give you so something now.
And let her sit at her spot at the window all she wa ts! Clearly she loves that!
Salem, your pics are adorable.
We look forward to celsbrarngyour first poop, okay? Heck! Take a pic, we’ll even celebrate that!! We’re a weird bunch!
Keeping paws crossed that today is better.
Hugs to Salem and to you! You are a great mom!

My Pfritz has had some hard days . . . but there are now more good than bad days – so hang in there. Pfritz took so long due to his chemo. Hope you’re feeling better soon!
